While we love our high temperature lab furnaces, there are a few pain points... One issue is uneven heating. In some instances, the temperature is not uniform throughout the furnace. This may result that you have some of your sample left unheated. To address this, you can monitor the temperature at various locations with a thermocouple and adjust settings accordingly. The furnace may also be slow boiling up to the desired heat. This can result from the furnace not correctly insulated, or over-sampled. To correct for this, be sure to load the furnace with the correct amount of material and check that there aren’t any gaps in the insulation. Also, there are some users who struggle with the digital controls. A confusing interface is ripe for error. At ZONWON, we make our lab muffle furnace easy to use but we still recommend reading the instruction manual thoroughly. Finally, don't forget to regularly give the furnace a good cleaning. Residues from previous experiments can interfere with performance. Take care of your place, ensure it is clean and well maintained.
